GPAH is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit, and professional organisation working for the welfare with deprived communities in Pakistan since March 2006. GPAH is a non-profit organisation, taking many initiatives to help the handicapped and deserving people. It was established, on a self-finance base. The main purpose is the socialization of the \u2018sufferers\u2019 with all levels of society members in an agreeable environment under the trained supervision of the committed and dedicated team of GPAH. Over the time, many opportunities have opened up in the sport and basic literacy departments, also the moral and religious understanding of the people have increased.<\/div>\r\n \r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

\r\n GPAH Welfare Society<\/span>\r\n <\/h2>\r\n
GPAH Welfare Society is also a gender-based organisation fulfilling the requirements of gender-based interventions while working on a specific project. The organisation is member-based, and has attracted a sufficient number of professionals, specialized in gender-based conflicts, community empowerment and mobilization. Trainings were given on various aspects including conflict sensitive planning, gender responsive services and environment, to the local bodies, NGOs, CBOs, CCBs on various occasions often required by the government and the public<\/div>\r\n \r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

GPAH was set into action on the 1st of March 2006. Human rights campaigners and activists, lobbyists, philanthropists, friends, and relatives of the members provided the core support. After six months the GPAH Islamabad Nursery was launched in autumn. To sustain the project, a team of highly qualified teachers and a few \u201cayas\u201d(nannies) were recruited and some old age houses were opened across the country. The active members of the organisation used to perform all the administrative tasks and duties, voluntarily.<\/div>\r\n \r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

\r\n Model during the Year<\/span>\r\n <\/h2>\r\n
As its first model during the year of its establishment, i.e. September 2007, the Islamabad Nursery started to meet its expenses: however, a monthly deficit persisted. The incoming funds of tuition fees were enough for rent, staff salaries, transportation and general expenses and the rest was covered with the personal contribution of the members. Later, the same model was implemented in other cities of the country as well.<\/div>\r\n \r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

GPAH has been working in the rural & urban communities of Pakistan. Being a promoter of education and stability in the region, the organisation has conducted several seminars on Education, Health, Terrorism, Democracy, Basic Human Rights, Women Rights, Children and the Future of the Country, Child Labor, Child Sexual Abuse, Mother Health Care, Role of Local Government to ensure The Human Rights, Domestic Violence, Human Rights and the Curriculum, Youth and Its Responsibilities. GPAH has covered all these topics in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, Quetta, Faisalabad, Multan, Hyderabad, D.I Khan, Swat, Mansehra and Mardan.<\/div>\r\n \r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

For the last four years, the organisation is actively involved in community empowerment in different districts and has conducted several activities on advocacy in environment program, Livestock seminars, and seminars about health, hygiene, water and sanitation, education, and stability both environmental and social. The organisation has attracted several volunteers from various cities of the country, particularly from South Punjab, Interior Sindh, and KPK including rural and urban areas of Islamabad whose active involvement in multifarious programs like walks, seminars, training courses and awareness campaigns\/workshops has brought visible positive change in the communities and the dialogue culture is in the evolution process of promotion. After this effective effort, the NGO has motivated several communities to perform their own non-profit activities to uplift the life standards of the masses of the respective areas<\/div>\r\n \r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n
